How and where to celebrate post-graduation

Whilst your graduation itself is a big celebration, it can often be the time you spend celebrating afterwards with friends and family that makes the day extra special.

Your graduation celebrations provide you with the chance to share some of your favourite places with friends/family who may never have visited Leeds before. Or, you can finally go to the place you’ve curiously wandered past but never had chance to visit!

We’ve compiled a list of 5 ways you can celebrate post-graduation, breaking it down into restaurants, bars, cafes, and celebrations on campus.

Restaurants

Booking a sit-down meal with friends/family is always a great way to debrief about the day and your time as a student whilst enjoying some of the fine food Leeds has to offer.

A lot of restaurants will book up fast, so make sure you call them to reserve a table as soon as possible! Here are a few independent restaurants not far from campus:

Tattu Restaurant and Bar

Open every day, typically from 12pm — 11.30pm

Little Tokyo Restaurant

Location: 24 Central Rd, Leeds LS1 6DE

Open every day from 12pm — 10pm

Salvo’s

Location: 115 Otley Rd, Headingley, Leeds LS6 3PX

Open every day, typically from 12pm — 2pm and 5pm — 9pm

Bars

Again, these will book up very quickly with everyone having the same idea so don’t hesitate to start planning numbers for tables now before it’s too late.

These are always great options if you have an early graduation, say around 9am — 12pm.

Leeds has an amazing array of local coffee shops so you’ll never be short of choice. Here are just a few places for a coffee or afternoon tea:

Celebrate on campus

Last, but by no means least, is the option of staying around campus to catch some of the new activities being put on for graduation this year.
